The first Czech cigar congress
The first Czech cigar congress. Last week the first cigar congress took place in the Czech Republic. The venue was the beautiful Bison Ranch in Rožnov near Český Rudolec. That’s about 200 kilometers south of Czech’s capital Prague, near the Austrian border.
The event
This was the first time that such a huge event took place in the Czech Republic. For two days, brothers and sisters of the leaf could enjoy themselves surrounded by like-minded people. The first attendees gathered on Friday evening for cigars and exclusive bison steaks from the Bison Ranch. And because of the location, many of the cigar aficionados brought their families. They could enjoy the beautiful countryside around the ranch. And the many recreational activities in the area.
The Saturday afternoon and evening were reserved for the big cigar party. Leading importers of premium cigars worked together for the first cigar congress, which was organized by Ultra Premium Brands. Add in the gastronomy of the Bison Ranch and the workshop of one of the best bartenders in the Czech Republic, Lukáš Hanzl, and you can only speak about a fantastic event. The cigar aficionados were spoiled by Bison Ranch owner Dirk and his crew.
Amongst the brands represented were Perdomo, Davidoff, Arturo Fuente, Joya de Nicaragua, Padron, Leaf by Oscar, Casa Turrent, Drew Estate, Rocky Patel, and many others. And there were plenty of opportunities to sample cigars, pair them with Diplomatico rum and bison meat. The first cigar congress was such a success that the organizers are working on the second edition. The second edition is planned for late May or early June of 2020.
