PDR Cigars Rebrands the Connecticut River Valley Line

April 28, 2022 Inspector L 1 min read

PDR has been rebranding and revamping all of its lines in the last two years and now the Connecticut Valley River gets a new packaging and a more powerful blend. The cigars will still be produced in two limited runs each year, as has been the case since its inception in 2015.

The line will still come in Azul and Roja, both sport a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper but the Azul has a lighter, more natural, wrapper while the Roja has a maduro wrapper. The binder is Nicaraguan with filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The new blend has more Dominican Corojo and lesser Nicaraguan tobacco than the old blend.

There are also changes in the vitolas. The Belicoso and the Figurado are gone from the line up, new area 7×50 Churchill and a 7×42 Lancero. Only the Chinese market will see the Belicoso, they are an exclusive for that market now. All cigars are made at the Blue Star Cigar Factory, also known as the PDR factory.
